Numerous invertebrates were collected during various scientific trawling surveys carried out in the Bay of Biscay (RESSGASC, EVHOE), and the adjacent areas between 1993 and 1995. The species captured by the same trawling methods used by professional fishermen represent only a fraction of the known invertebrate fauna in the Bay. In addition to an inventory of the species, a simple key allows easy access to faunistic groups. The species, some of which are economically interesting, form the subject of a short description and, for the most part, a colour illustration.

This atlas presents in a synthetic form the hydrodynamical, geological and biological characteristics of one of the most studied region of the French littoral. Geologic and geophysical data of the Saint-Brieuc Bay show that the deep basement consists of pre-palaeozoic or palaeozoic sedimentary series in the centre of the Bay, whereas metamorphic and magmatic formations are dominant in coastal regions. The location of superficial sediments in the Bay, is mainly due to marine currents. Depuis une vingtaine d'années, l'Ifremer organise des campagnes de pêche scientifique en mer du Nord, Manche, Atlantique et Méditerranée concernant les ressources pélagiques, démersales et benthiques. L'objectif prioritaire est de produire des indices d'abondance des principales espèces commerciales. Elles recueillent également des données sur les espèces capturées non commerciales. Les campagnes sont réalisées selon des plans d'échantillonnage standardisés. L'engin de pêche et son gréement, la position des stations, le tri des captures, les prélèvements biologiques suivent des protocoles fixés. RESUMO Foram utilizados 30 cães neurologicamente saudáveis e realizadas radiografias da coluna cervical, sendo mensurada a menor distância atlantoaxial dorsal e outros parâmetros anatômicos vertebrais. Esses dados foram avaliados por meio do coeficiente de correlação de Pearson. Após detecção do melhor parâmetro de correlação, utilizou-se a fórmula de coeficiente de correlação dimensional (CCD). Na segunda etapa desta pesquisa, foram utilizadas imagens radiográficas de 33 cães com subluxação atlantoaxial (SAA) e aplicou-se a fórmula CCD. Ponticulus posticus on the Posterior Arch of Atlas, Prevalence Analysis in Asymptomatic Patients

The Ponticulus posticus is a bony bridge located in the posterior arch of the atlas in relation to the passage of the vertebral artery. Its presence has been associated with development of cervical pain and cerebrovascular disorders. The purpose of this study was to assess its prevalence in asymptomatic patients. We examined 436 digital teleradiographs of patients aged from 5 to 70 years (mean of 18.44 years, SD. 9.59) of both sexes (173 men, 263 women). In 80.7% (n = 352) of cases, no radiographic evidence of ossification was found; 19.3% showed some degree of ossification, of which 10.1% had partial ossification and 9.2% complete ossification. The aim of this research was to study the anatomical aspects of abnormal foramen over the posterior arch of atlas vertebra. Posterior arch of atlas vertebrae was studied for abnormal foramen in sixty-seven adult human atlas vertebrae and findings were noted. In 2.98% of cases, unilateral complete abnormal foramen on the posterior arch of atlas vertebra was found. Clinicians should be aware about this variation on posterior arch of atlas, which may produce headache, vertigo, vertebrobasilar insufficiency and shoulder pains.

This atlas contains maps for the 79 species of Steninae (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae) that have been found in the Netherlands. The maps are based on data from collections and field observations. Diagnostic features, distribution in the Palearctic region and bionomics in the Netherlands are treated for each species. An identification key to the genera, subgenera and the Dutch species is also provided. The best-investigated areas are the northern part and some river valleys in the south. Most hot spots can be found in the northeastern part, with a maximum of 48 species for 25 km². 1. Inleiding In de serie verspreidingsatlassen van de Nederlandse Aculeate vliesvleugeligen ligt nu die van de spinnendoders (Pompilidae) voor U. Eerder zijn er een atlas van 64 soorten graafwespen (Lefeber, 1979) en een van de niet parasitaire Megachilidae (Van der Zanden, 1982) gepubliceerd. Atlassen van de overige graafwespen zijn in voorbereiding. Spinnendoders zijn in Nederland meestal geheel zwart gekleurd of zwart met een gedeeltelijk rood achterlijf.
